The KUCCPS will set the cut off point for 2015 / 2016 admission to degree programmes and diploma programmes. Last year, the cut-off points was at B of 60 points for male candidates and B- of 58 points for female candidates.


NCHI YETU wishes to inform Candidates, parents/guardians and the general public that they can receive 2014 KCSE exam results by sending a text message (SMS) KCSE#index–number to 22252 (Safaricom, Orange or Zain). Exam results will be sent to the subscribers upon release of the results.

Please note :
  1. Upon receipt of the Examination results, candidates are advised to thoroughly  scrutinize the results for correctness and ensure accuracy of, the names, index number, and gender; school name and  code; and individual subjects and any discrepancy noted on  the Examination results should be communicated to KNEC  as a query within one month (30 working days) from the date  of release of the examination results. 
  2. Candidates who would want their papers remarked should lodge a complaint with the Council within a month after release of the results. 
  3. Those who will miss out on their results are advised to check with their respective school heads and not with the examination council. 
  4. Candidate with withheld or pended results will receive a letter through the respective head teacher explaining why the examination results have been withheld or pended. 
  5. Those whose results will be cancelled due to cheating will get the communication from their school heads.

Based on the total declared capacity for degree programmes under Government sponsorship, and the performance analysis of the 2014 K.C.S.E Examination results, the Placement Service will set the cut off point for 2015/2016 admission to degree programmes and diploma programmes. Last year, the cut-off points was at B of 60 points for male candidates and B- of 58 points for female candidates. In addition, all Candidates with a minimum overall grade of C- are eligible to apply for diploma programmes.

Those who score a min. of C- (minus) and above shall qualify to join any diploma courses offered in the 51 government-run colleges and universities.Statistics from the Kuccps  indicate that there are only 60,000 vacancies in public universities and 40,000 openings in Government-run diploma colleges.
