The 2015/16 Kuccps Course Applicants are now able to access their application results following the procedure outline here. Nchi yetu team has noted that a good number of students are not satisfied with the results and would wish to transfer from the institution they have been placed to another institution of their choice. This process is called inter-institution transfer.

NEW10 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT KUCCPS 2017/18 FIRST REVISION OF COURSES 

The dissatisfaction is as a result of computerized selection process which is very competitive leading to some candidates being placed to courses not applied for after failing to meet entry points of the 7 optional courses on their list of selection that is done based on the question of choice and cluster.

Interested applicants should note that :-
  1. The Inter University / College transfer  will  be considered only if the applicant meets the cut off for the course they want to move to and there is still capacity in that course .
  2. The transfer will be valid after approval by the respective University / College and KUCCPS.
  3. Where NOT Approved, then the candidate will be retained in the course placed in.
  4. Merit will be used as a criteria for transfer and that all applicants to a particular course will be ranked in order of merit and will be allocated the vacant position on merit.
  5. The portal for inter-institution application will be open till 30th September 2015.

Procedure:

Applicants who have been placed in institutions they are uncomfortable in due to financial constraints or health problems are given an opportunity to do an inter-university transfer by following the procedure outline below:

Step 1: Logon to www.students.kuccps.net The browser will direct you to a login window which appears as shown below:

Step 2: Fill in the require login credentials to access the system and click the link labelled “Login”. After being authenticated, the system will direct you to the default homepage.

Step 3: Click the link labelled “Applications/Revision” to access the institution transfer form.

Step 4: The Applications/Revision tab has 3 sub-menus, namely: programme applications, applications results and inter-institution transfers as shown below.

Step 5: Click the the sub-menu labelled: “Inter-university transfer.” The browser will direct you to a page which has the inter-institution transfer form. The page appears as shown below.

Step 6: Fill in the programme code of university you wish to transfer to and also clearly explain reasons for the applications of the transfer.

Step 7: Confirm the programme code and the reason (s) you have indicated and click the “Update Details” Button as shown above.

Step 8: Download and print the completed form.Have the form endorsed both from the institution where you have been placed and the one which you wish to transfer to.Submit the forms to the Placement Service for final approval and validation. 

Finally: Logout the system to protect your data.

NEW10 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT KUCCPS 2017/18 FIRST REVISION OF COURSES 

We wish to inform 2015/16 Kuccps Course Applicants that the online application system was opened for the Second and final revision on Monday June 8, 2015 at 0000hrs and will close on Wedsday June 24, 2015 at midnight.

Please Note:

1.This application is open for all those 2014 K.C.S.E Candidates who have not been placed for any of their Degree or Diploma choices after the First revision.

2. Previous years K.C.S.E Examination candidates who had attained C- and above and did not qualify for government sponsorship in the respective year may also apply for Diploma programmes following the procedure outlined here.

3.Applicants should only select Degree Programmes  and Diploma Programmes with unfilled capacities. Click the above links to download a list of unfilled capacities in each category.

4.Candidates who had paid revision fees during School Application and during First Revision will NOT be required to pay for the Second Revision. The transaction Id can be retrieved from your MPESA mini statement.  You may use You can retrieve the mini statement by dialing *234# (safaricom lines) or sending an email to customercare@safaricom.co.ke.

5. Payment [new applicants] will be done via the KUCCPS MPESA utility account following the procedure below:
  1. Go to M-PESA on your phone
  2. Select Pay Bill option
  3. Enter Business no. 820201
  4. Enter 4 digits Exam Year followed by 11 Digits Index Number as your account number. e.g 2014123456789
  5. Enter the Amount
  6. Enter your M-PESA PIN 
  7. Send.
Reversals will be done if the amount is paid to an invalid index number.

6.Applicants who meet the requirements but do not apply or are not placed in any of their preferred choices after second revision will be offered placement in any unfilled programmes. Affirmative action criteria will be applied at the end of the placement process.

7. The KUCCPS Board will give final approval of the placement of applicants after the end of the process.

8.The results of the application [first and second revision ] will be communicated to the applicants via www.kuccps.net  / SMS as soon as they are available at the end of July after the selection process is completed.

9.The actual admission letters to the successful applicants will be sent  by the individual academic institutions where the applicants will be placed. Successful applicants will receive their letters of offer before the end of August, 2015.

10. The relevant guiding information such as subject clusters, similar programmes, previous cut off points (where applicable), weighted cluster calculation by performance index etc; may also be accessed as downloads from the kuccps website.

Step Four: Log out when you have finalized with application. This is necessary so as to keep your application information safe.

PART TWO: CHOOSING A COURSE

Sample: Assume Joyce want to pursue a Bachelor Of Agribusiness Management.

After logging in, the system directs you to the default application portal home page. The home page appears as shown below.


 The page has two tables. The first table is used to capture the applicant details , while the second table shows applicants cluster points in each cluster.

Step 1: Key in the required Applicant details on the students details module as shown below. The following details are required: Postal Address & Code, Country Of Birth, Primary Mobile No , Primary Email address ( gmail /yahoo or TLD emails) , Mpesa Transaction Id, County Code, City and Aternative Email Address. 

Enter  your Applicant Personal Details as shown above.

Step 2: Note your Weighted cluster Points.

 Step 3:Use the link titled Course/ Programmes to view a list of 2015/2016 Program mes/ Course Grouping. There are 19 registered course groups.

The system will  direct you to a page which appears as shown below:

Step 4: Identify your preferred course grouping. Click the link to view a list of courses in a given group.

Example: Assume (Joyce) an applicant want to pursue an agricultural-based course. She would click the first link labeled : "agricultural Sciences". The system will direct Joyce to page which appears as shown below.

 Step 5: Choose your preferred course & click the link to view the course cluster details, applicant cluster performance, list of similar programmes and where the courses are offered. The table also shows the Inst. Code, Program Code & 2013 cut off points.

Example: Bsc. AGBM programme Details

Step 6: Compare your cluster performance with the required* cut off point. 2014 cut off points for degree & diploma programmes will be determined by the available capacities of the degree and diploma courses respectively.

Example Cont':  Joyce has a cluster performance of 32.336. She might therefore qualify to pursue a Bsc. in AgriBusiness Management at Laikipia University.However, this does not mean that she cant qualify to pursue the same course at Chuka University because 2014 cut off points for degree & diploma programmes will be determined by the available capacities of the degree and diploma courses respectively.

Step 7: Taking into account your weighted cluster points for the 24 clusters, and considering the courses of your interest, note down correctly the programme codes for your final choices  .

Step 8: Repeat  Step 1- Step 8 of PART TWO to choose another course.

PART THREE: COURSE APPLICATION/REVISION
Step One: To apply or revise a course, you MUST pay the required amount as indicated in Step 2 (of Part 1 ) via Mpesa Pay Bill utility. Follow the instructions below:
    1.  Go to M-PESA on your phone
    2. Select Pay Bill option
    3. Enter Business no. 820201
    4. Enter 4 digits Exam Year followed by 11 Digits Index Number as your account number. e.g 2014123456789
    5. Enter the Amount
    6. Enter your M-PESA PIN 
    7. Send.
You will receive two payment confirmation messages. One SMS from Mpesa and another one from KUCCPS. On receipt of the KUCCPS confirmation, continue with the application process.

Step Two:  Use the link titled  "Application/Revision" to complete your application/revision as follows:
  • Enter the Programme codes for the revised/application programme choices that you recorded in step 7 (Part 2) and   save. 
  • Enter MPESA payment Transaction Id.
  • Apply.
The choices you have made will be displayed if you have completed the form without errors. If you find errors indicated in red, correct and save again.

Step Three: Log out when you have finalized with application. This is necessary so as to keep your application information safe.
