Nchi Yetu  wishes to remind 2014 K.C.S.E Examination Candidates that the online application system being used by the Placement service will be opened early next month (April).

Update! Kuccps Lowers Cut off points to 56.

Applicants who meet the cut-off point set by the Placement Service (Previously known as JAB) for admission to bachelors degree programmes may in addition apply for diploma programmes of their choice, while those below the bachelors degree cut off point but with a minimum of overall grade of C- may apply for diploma programmes, following the procedure outlined below or in www.kuccps.net webite.

 Application should be done online by all applicants including those who may have submitted their applications earlier, either directly to Universities and Colleges or through their respective Schools, and would wish to revise their choices.

  Requirements.
  1.  Application will only be eligible to the 2013 KCSE candidates.
  2. The minimum placement requirement to apply for bachelors degree will be grade B (60 pts) for male candidates and grade B- (58 Points) for Female candidates while the minimum admission requirement to apply for a diploma will be C- 
  3.  The minimum placement requirement to apply for bachelors degree for candidates who schooled for both their Primary and Secondary education in counties classified as marginalized areas by CRA 2012 policy is B- of 55 points.
  4. Candidates with disabilities are eligible to apply for bachelors degree programme if they meet the following criteria; a) Candidates with a mean grade of C+ and above and have visual or hearing impairment. b) Candidates with physical impairment with at least B- of 57 Points

    1.  Candidates with an overall grade of grade B (60 pts) for male candidates and grade B- (58 Points) for Female candidates will be allowed to make a total of 8 choices of both degree and diploma programmes.
    2. Candidates with an overall grade of C- and above but below grade B of 60 pts for male and grade B- of 58 Points for Female will be allowed to make a maximum of 6 choices from diploma programmes.
    3. Choices 1(a), 1(b) and 1(c) must be similar programmes while Choices 2, 3 and, 4 can be any other programmes for both degree and diploma programmes. If a candidate qualifies to apply for a bachelors degree, they may choose diploma choices as choice 5 and 6 
    4.  Candidates with disabilities will download and fill the Disability application form from here  and return the dully filled form to the Placement Services.

    5. Enough money in your Mpesa to pay for revision. The revision charge is Ksh. 1,000 for those candidates who had applied in School and Ksh. 1,500 for those who had not applied in school

     Procedure for Online application of Programmes Choices

    Step 1: Visit the KUCCPS website ( http://students.kuccps.ac.ke)

    a) Check the current status of your application. Use the link titled K.C.S.E.2013 Admission Enquiry b) Download and review the application guidelines. Use the link titled; Download Application Guidelines, or browse the kuccps website for all programme courses on offer. Use the links Information for 2013 KCSE candidates to access programme list and last year cut of points, Programme Clusters, Similar programmes, Non similar programmes, Institutions
    c) Taking into account your weighted cluster points for the 24 clusters, and considering the courses of your interest, note down correctly the programme codes for your final choices.

    Step 2: Access from your computer http://kuccpsapp.uonbi.ac.ke or from your mobile handset http://kuccpsmobile.uonbi.ac.ke to proceed. a) Use the link titled; Register to sign-up as a new user.

    Step 3: Update your personal contact information if it has changed from what you provided in school by using the link Edit Contact. For mobile users, click on link titled Home , to view this link.

    Step 4: To access Programme Application Form, you MUST pay the required amount indicated in Step 1 a) through your mobile phone by Mpesa following the instructions below:
    1.  Go to M-PESA on your phone
    2. Select Pay Bill option
    3. Enter Business no. 820201
    4. Enter KCSE 11 Digit INDEX NO e.g. 01711702001 as your account number (Not applicable to 2015/16 Admissions*)
    5. Enter the Amount
    6. Enter your M-PESA PIN 
    7. Send
    Step 5: You will receive two payment confirmation messages. One SMS from Mpesa and another one from KUCCPS. On receipt of the KUCCPS confirmation, continue with the application process.

    Step 6: If you had logged out or the page times out, log in again through the link titled Login to proceed.

    Step 7: Use the link titled Programme Application Form to complete your application/revision as follows:
      a) Read and accept the terms and conditions
      b) Enter the Programme codes for the revised programme choices that you recorded in step 1c and   save
     c) The choices you have made will be displayed if you have completed the form without errors. If you find errors indicated in red, correct and save again.

    Step 8: You MUST Log out when you have finalized with application. This is necessary so as to keep your application information safe.

    Points to Note:
    1.  Applicants can view their previous programme choices by clicking on View Previous Choices and their current programme choices by clicking on View Current Choices.
    2. To change the current choices during the application period, you will be required to repeat steps 7 and 8.
    3. There will be NO MANUAL REVISION using physical application forms. 
    4. Application must be done online following the procedure given above.
    5. All payments for application MUST be made through MPESA as explained in step 4 of the procedure. Any other mode of payment will NOT BE ACCEPTED.
    For further assistance, an applicant may visit the KUCCPS offices at the University of Nairobi, Kenya Science Campus during the application period.
